On mine the sound does have to be turned up a bit on some but the quality is great. A couple of months ago I treated myself to a new tv and chose a fairly expensive model to go along with my switch to digital. My daughter has commented over and over again about how great the sound quality is now, but that may have more to do with the tv itself than with Cox Cable.

One of the things I did though was to sign up for the DVR. Now THAT was a terrific present to myself. It is just wonderful to be able to record a show that might be on at the same time as another, or one that I won't be home to see at that time. It also cuts down on how many infomercials I wind up watching if I wake up in the middle of the night. I can just watch one of the recorded shows and don't accumulate a bunch of DVDs.
