I agree with your basic framework: sooner is better, and abortion can be the alternative to infanticide, not just to raising a child.

Re commenting on articles, my advice is to bookmark the main HN fray page and use that URL: <link>. It's OK if different thread starters are talking about different articles or blog posts or whatever.
