The problem now isn't so much that cops are racist, it's that their apologists are.

Being a cop is NOT a hard job, it is a cushy union, full pension job that a lot of sub-par people luck into.

Unfortanately a lot of these people are narcisitic bullys that have no respect for the the citizens they SERVE. That's right, cops serve the citizens, like a garbage man, they are no better than the people they serve.

But cops aren't generally racist, they're just dumb assholes.

It's the people that come to the defense of bad cops that are racist.

Before the alarmist "black crime" hype came in the 1980s whites viewed police as the corrupt, bumbling, unable to get a private sector job screw offs that they are.

Just watch an old episode of "Dukes of Hazzard" or "The Andy Griffith Show".

But now right wingers, who usually hate union and government employees, love cops, because cops are the last line of defense against the blacks and muslims that are going to come and steal their wives.

Any time that people are given a lot of power and no oversight there are going to be problems. Until people stop fearing minorities and realize that nobody is safe from police abuse and corruption the proper oversight is not going to occur.
