Iced Tea in Every Room

Where I'm from (Oklahoma), we call it "iced tea" and we are always always always offered "sweet or unsweet" at any restaurant, even Cracker Barrel (as another poster complained did not have unsweet).
At homes, the tea is usually made unsweet in the pitcher, and sugar is added by the individual drinker, in her glass.
Sure, there are granules of sugar at the bottom, but that can be fun-- especially if you are a kid and like a little sugar crunch with your ice (almost all Wild West region children eat their ice- it's precious).
My mother made "sun" tea every summer my whole life. That's when you put the tea in the big glass jar (with a spout at the bottom) and let it sit all day while you sit on the porch and look at the neighborhood. Then, after a long day of playing and talking, you get to put it on ice and enjoy.
I'm sure that my mom got this tradition from my great-grandmother, Granny, who had a glass of iced tea sitting in every room of her house, so that she could move from room to room and not worry about being without tea.
What a fantastic idea!
