republicans own the media

Back when republicans ran the government, both the white house and congress, they outnumbered democrats on all the cable and network shows 2 to 1. When asked, they would argue that they are the ones making policy and need to be heard. Both now and when Clinton was president, the same ratio is to be found. When asked, they will argue that we need to hear the voice of the opposition.
For several weeks we have been treated to a Newtfest, a Rush-athon and a Cheney-enema. The same goes for print media. They are given loud megaphones when out of power that the democrats never enjoyed. Does anyone recall people clamoring for democrat views when Bush foolishy lied us into a disastrous war? Of course not. We live in a corporatocracy. After Clinton won in 92, corporations wisely decided to buy up all the media they could. When a democrat is in power, there is no end of bitter reciminations. When a republican, the editors of papers make sure his name (Bush) is mentioned 3 times in a flattering way per page.
The illusion of democracy is just that. If you pay any attention to the media, you are consuming pablum designed to soften the electorate towards corporate-freindly legislation. Corporate media gives you corporate veiwpoints. As anyone knows, republicans serve the corproatocracy to a greater degree than democrats, so they will be showcased. However, one only look at how Obama has give the store to Wall Street and banks to know nothing has changed.
