I think that this thread is a perfect example of our country. GreatBear is looking at how things are today suggesting that we use what works and toss out what doesn't and spend less time trying to prove who is to blame when as in virtually everything the blame rarely lies only on one side.
Union's have a good purpose and came into being to put an end to awful working conditions. But they took it to another extreme and I experienced one example where production was shut down because a Foreman picked up a part that fell off of a conveyor line and put it back on the line. The crime was that he did not go find a labor worker to do it. A total waste. How many times have you heard where the union prevented the firing of a worker who has actually committed crimes against the company. I know one person who was fired for stealing product and the union got his job back.
As I think GreatBear is saying is that we have to stop wasting time figuring out who is to blame, work on those things that are successful and stop justifying actions because the Rep's did it too.
My apologies to Greatbear if I misrepresent what he says but to me he is presenting the logical approach.
