You're language is misleading. You state it as if you're being asked to pay for the whole pot of money. In reality, if the pot of money is one dollar, all you're likely to contribute is 0.00001 cent or some riduculously small amount in comparison. If you're acting high-and-mighty on such a meager contribution then do an about face and take more than you paid for, yes, it's hypocrisy. Considering that many red states contribute less to the federal government than they get in terms of money, my analogy isn't too far off.
