it doesnt take a rocket scientist to know that better eating habits and exercise are how you stay healthy. we've been hearing this ALL OF OUR LIVES. the fact is that some people care and some dont. some people always want the quick and easy path over the sure and disciplined one. and in our increasingly ADD culture, this is only getting exponentially worse and technology reflects this.

ultimately, the real way to combat almost all of these kinds of woes are to inculcate within our culture a sense of personal responsibility. if people felt more like they could control their lives and bodies, if we reinforced the idea that each individual is responsible for their actions no matter the psychology behind it (the psychology is important for personal growth NOT for no accountibility) - perhaps then we'd actually see a change in people's attitudes and actions.
