I agree. I wouldn't dare approach a smoker to ask for anything but a light. Or maybe to bum a smoke. Those bastards will give you cancer as soon as look at you.

But really, I'm much more likely to respond favorably to a request of, "Would you mind doing that somewhere else?" to "Cough, cough. That's so disgusting."

I actually had someone sit down next to me in a park, where I was clearly smoking already, and show me her anti-smoking button as she declared, "I'm sorry, but I'm a smoke-free zone." I couldn't help but reply with, "I'm sorry, but I was here first and already declared it a bitch-free zone."
