Gee Ron, you've summed up the man's work in a tidy little article for all to read as gospel. Total emphasis on lyrics, no mention of musicality. I guess that makes you a one sided writer/critic. Aren't critics suppose to critique the whole performance? I guess you've let your fan down by not following through on what we expect from a true critic. Maybe you can't comment on his music ability because of your lack of knowledge in that area. Kinda takes away your credibility huh... Like maybe you're not a full fledge "real " critic. You're sort of ...uh...phony....right?

You Jerk ! Critics like you write with authority spun up in your own mind. It feels good to tear down musical giants like Billy Joel when some fool gave you a forum to express your opinion. Somehow you become the know all of what's good and what's bad in the music world. Your fan may be pumping up that fat head of yours but Billy's fan's have spoken.

It's OK not to like like his style or his lyrics. But to derive something other than your own dislike of his music and try to spin it into criticism that reaches past his craft and portray it as a character flaw within the artist himself, well....I think you just need to piss people off to get some attention and get some response of some sort. That's what keeps you in business right?

What a pathetic way to earn a living compared to a man that has brought a body of work over several genearations that has moved & inspired others in their personal and professional endeavors. His music is chosen to enhance weddings, movies, etc...

I guess you weren't aware of his work with symphony orchestra's and his love for classsical music.
