It won't be zombies. It'll be more like skeleton companies. For example, consider Citigroup: It's cut at least 14% of it's work force -- so far. Such layoffs wouldn't have happened in Japan. The companies, instead of being whittled to the bone, would still have all those meaty employees attached.
