I think it's a baseless generalization to say that "Democrats are racist to the core." While it was unfortunate to see racism rear its ugly head among Democrats in the primaries, one might ask why Blacks, Latinos, Jews, Native Americans and Americans of so many other ethnicities and races tend vote Democrat as opposed to Republican. According to the PewHispanic Center, 65% of registered Latinos identified with the Democratic Party in 2008 after a pro-GOP trend earlier in the decade. Increasingly, the Republican party is seen as less inclusive and less tolerant of different ethnicities. It was evident that the party was the clear choice of both overt and covert racists such as those who flocked to Sarah Palin's rallies. This is not to imply, conversely, that all Republicans or conservatives are racist.
This issue, by the way, is an item on the agenda of the Republicans' soul-searching conventions to be planned for the future.
Your statements about Margaret Sanger are also baseless. For your information, she promoted birth control for a better quality of life for women and families, not abortion. In fact, she was motivated to help women prevent abortions at a time when there was widespread mortality from self-induced abortions.
And, I'd rather have my tax dollars go to improving the public schools so that a greater majority of American children can benefit, rather than to vouchers for a select few. Why shouldn't Obama send his girls to an excellent and safe school that he can afford when the DC public schools are among the worst in the nation? I don't see how Republicans giving a few Black kids vouchers will help improve those schools for the wider (majority Black) population in DC.
