Many male mutilations take place in exactly the same dirty conditions as the females' - and at about the same age, and with the same risks and memories. In fact., there are no places that mutilate women that do not also mutilate men (a far more widespread practice). Some circumcisions of women remove only the clitoral hood and labia (exactly the equivalent of a male circumcision), others are far more severe - but just because chopping off five fingers is worse than chopping off two or three, doesn't make either of them right. Even religion is not an excuse for these barbarities! By the way, phimosis can easily be cured without circumcision - if you have an enlightened doctor (or are outside of the US or Middle East).
