I'm guessing you do not have the advantage of education on the subject; otherwise you would not have made such a statement. If you have any interest, I will clarify the matter for you.

A person who does NOT believe in God is accurately considered an AGNOSTIC, not an ATHEIST. There is a huge difference. An Atheist has a belief system as strong as one who believes in God; just the opposite. They are convinced God does not exist and they have faith in that belief. An Agnostic on the other hand, does not believe anything one way or the other, thus they have faith in nothing in particular.

I would say that is why Tori mentioned an envy for Atheists. Sometimes, it is Not so much WHAT one believes that gives one strength as simply having SOMETHING to believe In.

Second -

A 'confessional' as you labeled the post is actually a physical booth where Roman Catholic parishoners go to privately confess their sins to priest. Again, perhaps you have not had adequate education on the subject of religion?

I did not interpret Tori's post to be a confession of anything. Rather, I found it to be well written. It offered a non-pejorative point of view which is refreshing considering how judgmental and angry many folks have gotten. No one is really under attack.

I quite enjoyed what s/he had to say. Merry Christmas to all or whatever floats your boat!
