Sorry mrliberal, but as an honorably discharged, female, retired veteran of the United States Navy I have to disagree. I and many other women have served and continue to serve in all branches of the military. We do the job and we do it with Pride, Honor, Courage and Commitment. If we couldn't so it we wouldn't be there. Believe all you want the story that we don't serve in combat, but piloting a fighter jet, manning a gun turret, and carrying a weapon in the supply corps certainly means Fight or Die!
What I have to say to the people calling for a draft is that my son is certainly not going without your daughters!!
I believe that young women in this country should have to sign up for the selective service when they turn eighteen. That should be the first step before a discussion of the draft ever hits the floor. Service to country should not be selective it should be inclusive.
