Re: Blogging

Robert,

First, let me compliment you on a nice, clean-looking blog.

In answer to your questions about the creative side of blogging and how bloggers see the world, let me give you my perspective.

In the late 60s, I worked for a newspaper where I had to shoot five photo essays a week. My goal was to shoot pictures of ordinary people doing ordinary things: to focus on folks who would normally would get their names in the paper when they were born, got married, got a speeding ticket and, finally, died. It the most productive and satisfying time of a 40-plus year career at papers in four states.

When I retired from the paper this summer, my geek kids set up my blog .

At first glance, it looks like a bicycle blog with a strong mixture of photography, travel, food, product reviews and some quirky writing.

It's really a renewal of my license to be nosy. I had forgotten how much I missed those days when I'd cruise around aimlessly looking for someone or something interesting.

Blogging give me that excuse again and I hope my site reflects it.
