Dangers of second hand smoke are the boogie man du jour
by garbow1

If second hand smoke were so deadly, my family would have all perished in the 1960's. Everyone smoked with the windows closed in the house & car, yet not one case of lung cancer in the family (knock wood).

What DOES cause cancer are industrial toxins released into our communities' air, (unknown to most denizens), along with that stuff that comes out of every tail pipe and "clean coal" plant, AND the fallout from nuclear tests blithely conducted in the path of populated areas 50 years ago.

Cigarettes have become such a boogie man, with little or no regard to all of the other garbage that spews daily, but which is less "in your face".

Also, there is evidence that all cancers have links to one's genetic make up. Our species survived all of the cave smoke, so let's give the hysteria over cigarettes a rest please!
