Rove is hopeful that no longer being in the West Wing will mean no more efforts to learn how deep he was in the Plamegate affair, the Lawyer Layoffs, and other scandals. It is clear that Rove has been the Goebbels of the Bush administration, directing very effective propaganda strategies and character assassination and it would appear he isnt completely uninvolved in the other workings of the RNC in internal power plays.

And why would Rove stay anyway? Bush cannot run for office again. Rove no longer needs work for Bush when there are plenty of other Republicans in need of his "skills" in getting into office. Needless to say, I think Rove leaving before the 2008 elections makes all the sense in the world-he has new work to do.....
