President-elect Obama and the government authorities are following the correct legal channels to address this challenge to his citizenship status. This is a fact. There is no evidence that he is withholding any documents or refusing to participate in any inquiries despite all the passionate opinions by members of the public or media. Those involved in making the final determination will also consider the fact that Obama's mother was a natural-born citizen herself which confers a status on him automatically by parentage regardless of where he was born.
