Very true. It was the environment that allowed Hitler to thrive that is of prime importance. Some lessons were learned and applied after WWII but there are still some that haven't been addressed.

The right wing still panders to the fearful. The current economic troubles could again be their opportunity. RepubliCON policies over the past 40 years have left the door open and many don't want the necessary reforms to occur to prevent another era of fascist dictatorships.
