Hi, Rabbit,
Refuse to believe
the sky is falling until
clouds hang from your ears.
Or perhaps until
predictions of meteors
become asteroids.
Nice poetic riposte, islandtime.
I didn't vote one way or the other.
It does not befit
ambassadors to interfere
with the reigns of kings.
However, My Retired Conservative Friend has been sending me so many e-mails about The Obamanation (sorry, it's his and others' phrase, not mine) that I almost feel like it's the second coming of Antiochus Epiphanes (a reprobate flatterer who brought ruin to everyone who didn't buy into his brand of "change"). It feels like that to him, and when he worries thus, I at least keep my rabbit ears poked above the cloud hanging about them.
Perhaps the Democrats and others will finally learn what it's like to have a president they like needlessly and constantly villified as they have done to President Bush all these years. And as for the popular versus the electoral vote, it's been practically deja vu all over again, save that the shoe's on the other foot (how's that for mixing metaphors?).
Ah, I say let's chuck the whole system and start over, begging everyone's pardon. How's that for change?
