Missing Measure of Meanness
by Mangar
All good data, all good thoughts. The direction I'd like to see this research take is into the flip side of charity, or meanness. Coalition is great when it's being put to good use (like running a homeless shelter or helping people afford child care.) But coalition can also be an incredibly punitive force to outgroup members as well as ingroup members who aren't zealous enough.

In the next economics game, perhaps someone could prime "God" randomly and then see how much those folks were willing to PUNISH someone else for exercising a civil liberty like being gay, speaking their mind, being an atheist, etc.
