I see it as confirmation of the thesis put forward in the article -- that there are voters who may harbor racist views, but who nonetheless find Obama to be the preferred candidate. I believe that's what the poster was trying to say. So clearly some others read something else into it -- what is that something else?

"Whodathunk? I have seen it with my own eyes. I, of course, am a life long Democrat who rejects racism and inequality in all its forms. "

Yet the very enlightened individual who abhors racism (we know this because he said so) goes on to then:

"Imagine my dismay when one of my redneck and I mean REDNECK buds at the gym says "yeah I'm gonna vote for the F-ing N." I almost pissed in my pants! Even harsh N-word using dudes are begining to see the light."

It must be so wonderful to abhor racism and inequality in all its forms yet have "buds" and "N-word using dudes" to hang around with......................
