Well, Efraker now thinks I'm anti-Israel, whereas what I AM against is the air wing of the IDF thinking it can win wars with antipersonnel bombing. That was a hideously bad idea, immorally pursued, and a total failure, strategically. It made Israel LESS secure, not more.

Imple common sense dictates you don't sell mustard gas to a monster like Saddam -- did he just suddenly turn into a bad guy when it became in our interest to attack him? The adjustment of conscience required for that is beyond me; i'm sorry. it was wrong to sell him the stuff, and it was also wrong to hang him for using it and pretend that ended our responsibility. The punishment should extend to his pals, like Rumsfeld and Abrams. We have to work with what is gthere? The Kurds were there. They dealt with us honeslty and got screwed, twice by Kissinger and then by Rumsfeld. All we had to do was give them air cover, which is what Clinton did.

I guess your reference to World War two is a "Munich" reference. By then, there were no small problems. I think what we have to learn from are more recent errors, like the "Reagan Revolution" meddling program, or our support of the Contras in Nicaragua. Besides that, we gave ten billion bucks to the Paks and were SURPRISED wehn they used the money on their priority number one, which was, is and will be, parity with India. at the same time we pursued a nuclear policy with India that indirectly supports its weapons program. That is COMPLETELY INSANE.

Regarding Tort Reform -- for all the whining I hear about PI lawyers attacking the poor doctors, I don't see anybody eise looking out for the interests of the victims. Go ahead and "reform" the tort bar out of existence, but only if you can replace it with something that does the same work, better. That would be real reform. I suggested workman's comp for a reason -- do you know where that system came from?
