My ex is an avid SPORTS fan. On our wedding day he spent the better part of the reception at the bar watching either a pre-season football game or a baseball game (I can't remember which anymore). Since receptions seem to be more about socializing with the guests it really did not bother me since he would break away from the game for the important things. When I was in the hospital in labor with my oldest he was in the room watching tennis. Not a problem, since there really wasn't much he could do for me anyway, at least he was there. He and my daughters love baseball and to compromise we planned most of our vacations so that it included going to see at least one game. I like sports but I am not a fanatic and I never saw his obsession with sports as a really big deal since he fulfilled his responsibilities to his family.
