Or, hey, screaming children. Damn their parents for ever bringing them out of the house! Screaming kids put me on edge in a most horrible way. I always think there's a little 'un who's in pain or being kidnapped and the instinct will not go away as the kiddo screams his head off. So here I am, trying to enjoy dinner and a conversation while fighting off the impulse to rescue a kid who does not need rescuing because he just sounds like someone's taking a cleaver to his face. In fact, he wants cookies for dinner. Either way.

Seriously, princess. The world does not revolve around you. Put on your grown-up pants and stop using your anecdata to validate your personal biases.
