This is the dirty little secret that Apple doesn't want you to know: Macs aren't that stable. They've never been that stable. They crash and they breakdown. When something goes wrong, the complexity of the operating system makes it hard for the average user to fix it. Windows doesn't need to have a "genius bar" for its users in every major city.

Much of this Apple vs. PC stability crap is a hold over from Windows 3.1 vs early Macs. Today's Windows beats Mac OS hands down.
