Yes, I've been reading the responses to that and some of them are downright frightening. Part of what bothers me is the assumption by so many that discipline is spanking and that without hitting you can not have discipline.

I do find it a bit amusing that the article talks about "Studies of parents have demonstrated that if they are predisposed not to see a problem in the way they rear their children, then they tend to dismiss any scientific finding suggesting that this presumed nonproblem is, in fact, a problem" and sure enough the parents in the forum confirm those studies in spades.
