bad article...

This article makes a few claims that are bogus. What kind of scientific study is that? That paragraph made no sense and is useless.

If the parents want to punish their kids from doing something wrong, they have the right to punish them. What is the difference if you yell and put your kid in the corner facing a wall of spiders and bugs and hitting your kid? One is mental abuse, another is physical abuse. Which lasts longer? Everyone knows that mental lasts longer than physical. The parents who beat their kids everytime the kids do something wrong are the parents who don't have any parenting skills. The object is not to beat the kid then go along your business until the next time the kid acts up. You are supposed to give the message to the kids as you did something wrong and you got hit and to not do it again. The kids need to fear the parents to some degree to learn what is wrong and right. If you are a parent who says go to the corner, you have no parenting skills. You are just saying to the kids, if you did something wrong, you just sit there until it passes. How many hours does it take for a child to learn their lesson by sitting in a corner? Hours upon hours which ends up to be years wasted staring at the corner when you could have been teaching them the correct ways of right and wrong actions.

This situation of hitting kids stems from the learning process of a child. For example, if a baby falls off a step, they will know not to go past the step. If a kid puts their hand on a hot stove, they will not touch the hot stove again. If a kid sticks a finger in the electrical outlet, they will not put a finger in the socket again. This is the same. Hit them once and they will not act up again. The parents have to teach the kids that something bad was done and it should not happen again. If you do not agree with me, then everyone needs to live in a one story house with no steps, carve the world flat so there is no incline so no stairs are needed, remove the stove and any hot appliances from all the world, and move the electrical outlets so they hang from the ceiling. Are you all contradicting yourselves? I think people are sometimes stupid (like the author of this article and the "scientists" who made that study) and should learn from other countries and their ways of handling bad behavior.

Face it, we live in a country that has many cultures living amongst each other. Some believe we should hit, some don't. The laws and punishments of the country are too weak and do not scare the citizens into always doing right. If we lived in a society that kills a person immediately after they were found guilty of murder, then we wouldn't have overcrowding prisons. We would only need 2 prisons per state. Do you see other countries having an overcrowding prison problem? NO. Everyone would be scared of their lives to do something bad. If people think, hey I am going to kill someone and I get to eat/drink/live in a fully expensed place, why not? They will eventually let me out if I act good in prison. Screw that, stop wasting my tax money on criminals who deserve to die. Put that money back into the economy and create more jobs.

If you haven't seen the clip of Russell Peters describing this issue, then watch it and learn. Hit your child to teach them right and wrong.
