To hopefully talk him out of this asinine cap and trade idea. It's just a tax on productivity, nothing more. Besides, who benefits from this? Certainly not the US. Some dictator of a 3rd world country that will never use all their "credits" will just sell them off to places like the US that need "credits" to keep the economy going. Of course, the people will never see that money. It will, however do a nice job of lining the pockets of 3rd world dictators.

A carbon tax is almost as economically nuts as cap and trade. Do you honestly mean to tell me that there aren't enough taxes on business already? We have either the second or third highest corporate taxes in the entire world. Business is taxed enough. In these times, I find it interesting how many people actually support higher taxation of our nations employers.

Last but not least, has anyone looked at the Sun, lately? Are we aware that the solar wind has been measured at its lowest intensity yet? Instead of bickering about global warming, we ought to be focusing on energy supply and energy independence. Based on what the Sun is doing, we're going to need it. Two words for you...cut wood.
