Chris, I remember that line quite well from Obama's convention speech. Is it not pithy enough for you? Why does a refusal to speak in bromides and slogans equal vapidity in your mind? And the strategy to withhold plans on the Wall St. crisis and Georgia is a front-runner strategy, not a Hail Mary strategy, like other candidate I could mention.

Landslides don't exist anymore...it's nearly impossible to win by plurality these days. The electorate is too partisan, regardless of however they answer questions on the economy or foreign policy (thinking Democrats handle the economy better does not necessarily translate into a vote for a Democrat). Buying into this myth that Obama should be head by 15 points because the environment is bad for Republicans is, well, simple.

So Obama speaks intelligently (if I wasn't aware of your knee-jerk hatred of the man, I would think you wanted Obama to be more like Bill Clinton) and runs his race like someone with a lead to protect. What's the problem again?
