Wiki describes elitism in a variety of ways:

*the belief or attitude that those individuals who are considered members of the elite —

-a select group of people with outstanding personal abilities, intellect, wealth, specialized training or experience, or other distinctive attributes

*may be used to describe a situation in which power is concentrated in the hands of the elite.

*may also refer to situations in which an elite individual assumes special privileges and responsibilities in the hope that this arrangement will benefit humanity.

I guess the latter is what is being used to describe Senator Obama. How can one be called an elitist, when as a black man he is still barred from elite circles regardless of how much money or status he has?

In essence you have called him an Uncle Tom to his own people while he is proving his intention is the exact opposite. Senator your remarks concerning Senator Obama reveal a cultural divide that still plagues this country. How you can take remarks totally out of context and make claims so ridiculous?

Wonder why African-American Republicans have suddenly grown very quiet since you picked Governor Palin as your running mate? It would appear that you are the elitist Senator. How else would you allow your colleagues to get away with the most racist, sexist, trashiest, and most disrespectful campaign I have ever seen in my life?

First you parade this woman in front of us as though she is smart, beautiful, all about career and family, and she is just as clueless about multiculturalism as you. You two assume because you come from states that have large Native American populations that it makes you sensitive to the issues of minority groups that have been marginalized for centuries.

I lived in the great state of Arizona in the late eighties, and I have to say your state has its own issues concerning discrimination and the cultural divide. I was a freshman in high school and it was the first year Arizona schools were under federal mandate to integrate or forfeit federal funding. How do I know? The same thing happened to me in elementary school here in Texas. There were days I had to fight my way to class like we had time warped to the civil rights movement twenty years earlier!

Here we are! I feel we have time warped again! This time its the post-colonial period and the US is stealing land and resources from the natives. Is this the real reason the lovely governor was your choice? You have never wanted for anything in your life Senator McCain--with the exception of freedom as a POW during the war. You speak of it as if it were a medal of honor and the citizens of the US should honor you further because you spent time kidnapped in Vietnam.

My father and uncles were veterans too Senator, and no one was singing their praises! In fact if not for my father and others like him you couldn't have gotten in that airplane. You see he was an aviation mechanic and his specialty was engines. Vital equipment for a pilot to complete his mission, huh? There was no fanfare when they got home. No money either. In fact one uncle gave his life and my father gave another 15 years to the military and then he retired.

Still no fanfare...no money. All he got was a grave, a flag, and a fly over...not even a 21 gun salute. Was their service any less because they weren't captured? I say it again...my Daddy made it possible for you!

The economy is in the toilet sir. Please tell me how can you stretch a dollar when you've never had to? How have you had to tighten your belt designating luxuries from necessities? When have you ever had to make a decision between eating and putting gas in your car, paying rent or lights? How many times have you had to return to work still sick because you couldn't afford to go to the doctor to get a note proving your ill? How many times did you have to tell your children they couldn't have the latest and greatest thing, because there wasn't enough for necessities let alone fun stuff.

You remember the conditions you were made to live in while a POW and what little food you got if any, right? Imagine you were just there for a short time. Think about those who are still there--right here in THIS COUNTRY!

You ask why we stand behind Senator Obama? He was raised on that broken system. Even though he is half white and benefited from 'rich' white culture--it wasn't a norm for him. He knew that at any moment it could be taken away. His ethics are questioned but why? He got a deal on a house?

Excuse me, but wasn't everyone getting a deal back then? Did you pay full price for any of the homes you purchased during this period? It would seem to me anyone that had prime credit during the 'subprime era' got their house for a STEAL! This world isn't free Senator--we know that all too well. My question is do you?

With all your millions you aren't willing to part with it for a little while to get this economy back in shape? I wonder how fast we could get this country out of debt if people like you would donate just 1 million. 700 of you could keep the poor folks from having to pay for the Wall Street fiasco. But that would be double dipping, huh? It makes no sense to contribute to that 700 million, when you're claiming part as a loss.

How many personal accounts of these business owners are affected? Are they homeless? Hungry? Broke? Are they living on park benches in Central Park? Are they in the unemployment line? NO. They're living on their savings until you ask us to bail them out! Why? We already know how to live on nothing!

Its a slap in the face for you to ask us to bail out your investments when you've stopped creating jobs and revenue for this country. Its a slap in the face for you to ask us to bail out your investments when you have escaped through every loophole in the tax code to preserve your portfolios while sending our jobs overseas and contributing to the decline in value of our own currency.

You claim that you are for change when I haven't heard anything to the effect. Details...you don't have any. If anything you're going back to some of the archaic practices of our forefathers. Play nice with the Indians and steal their money and land right from under them. Where are you gonna send them this time? There is no more to the west to conquer. You have pushed them to the far reaches of the northwest for eons and now there is no where to go. If you wanted people to believe you are for change?

Start with the resources we have. The people that can afford to give should. Senator Obama makes chump change compared to what is in your coffers yet he has included himself in these tax rollbacks. You claim they will disable business owners and jobs will be sacrificed?

BULLSHIT! Bring back all American business! American corporations are getting a discount taking money out of this country. Sins of a few are not the sins of many. People in this country want to earn a living. They aspire to be rich and powerful like you. What's happening?

People are opening their doors to get the morning paper only to find an eviction/foreclosure notice and a headline that reads Exxon-Mobil has a $42 billion dollar profit. Some people in Alaska are cashing their dividend checks and still have to wait on their FOOD STAMPS to get by...rape victims have to pay for their own forensic evidence...my kids have to checkout school textbooks to do their homework....gas and food are in competition for our money--gas winning...and the rich are complaining because a presidential candidate had the nerve to say it was just as much their responsibility to help?

Just who is the elitist here? "Why the hell should I pay taxes....humph....I gave you a job!" Are you FKM? I had to open a business just so I could afford to pay taxes and I'm barely breaking even! You say it doesn't matter how many houses you own? Well I can't buy a house now, because the market is so screwed! I bet you weren't forced to raise four children in a 750 sq. ft. apartment because of irresponsible lenders and borrowers.

I could move to a bigger apartment, but how do I save for a mortgage when rent on a bigger apartment is the same as a mortgage? "Why didn't I get a house while the getting was good?" I knew this was going to happen! I knew they were going to talk all these people into buying all of these things they couldn't afford in an effort to bolster the dollar, and then pull the rug out from under them when they realized it wasn't working. I know the government always expects me to pay for everything regardless and sorry I wasn't making my kids suffer. I learned in college there was a reason they called it PLASTIC money...it's worth nothing in the end!

So thanks J-Mac! I hope you and your friends recover some of what you have lost in the market. Give your money to charity; make yourselves feel better.

As for me, I will be raising my kids with real American values...not to step on the backs of others to get ahead. They will learn to work together by giving back to their communities and helping out with their hands and not just their $$. They will learn the value of nothing from nothing, because at the rate you guys are going that's all of what their inheritance will be!
