Cindy: For me, the shoe is on the opposite foot... I know Sarah Palin (and her history) quite well, but am only aware of John McCain periferally through the news. I'm not offended by anything that I've heard, but I am concerned that he is 72 yrs old with a history of cancer. I think there is a very real chance that his health could fail with his VP then becoming the President. From everything I know of Sarah Palin... I just don't think that person shoud be her. Of course, that's my opinion and probably doesn't help you at all.
Sarah Palin's husband (Todd Palin) is a fairly busy guy:
- Production operator for BP on the North Slope
- Commercial salmon fisherman on Bristol Bay... the place their oldest daughter was named for.
- Champion snowmobile racer... where he proved to be a very tough guy indeed.
- And most recently, Sarah's "go to" guy for getting things done. Unfortunately, he's not a state employee, and people have thought that he was getting a little too involved in state business (and even charging for it). Some people have even started to refer to him as the "Shadow Governor".
So, even with her husband's help, I'm not sure how Sarah juggles her parenting duties. Probably, like most people... she compromises. To what degree, I don't know.
Not much is known about her views on health care, but the Washington Post has an article on it here:

I'm a bit old-fashioned too. My Mother was a retired English teacher and a stay-at-home mom. I never lacked for parental attention, and at least in my teen years... had more than I thought I needed.
