Manfromv - In general, I agree totally with your analysis but feel that I must provide some clarification on some of the issues in question:
Sarah Palin's Alaska approval rating was 80% several years ago when she first won the Governship, but polls taken less than a month ago show that it had dipped down to around 60%... and was still falling. Plus, the original polls were conducted in her home area where 2/3 of Alaska's total population is located. If they were done district by district, the numbers would have been much lower. Admittedly, her recent nomination (with all the publicity) as the Republican VP has pumped-up the numbers... but it's not performance related, and could well be temporary.
You're correct... I'm not a big Sarah Palin fan, but I didn't start out that way. I found myself lodged in the "minority" after years of watching how she conducted her business. In some areas, she has my respect... but in many more, I find her lacking. But yeah... she is awfully cute.
You might consider the possibility that I'm not just "detailing" the bad things about Sarah Palin, so much as just telling the "truth". The Republicans are whitewashing her past and her abilities... they have to. And as they say, "Never let the truth get in the way of a good story!" and Sarah Palin's story is becoming "Very Good!".
I agree, an astute observer does look at all sides before coming to a decision. I would hope that everyone would become astute before voting for Sarah Palin.
Please, if something I wrote interests you... research it on your own... draw your own conclusions. I'm suppling direction... not answers. The journey is yours to make... and as manfromv suggests - BE ASTUTE!
