I was under the impression that Obama couldn't choose a woman not named "Hillary" for VP because that would anger her supporters who wanted to see Clinton make history, not just any woman. If Palin gets the Naval Observatory, wouldn't that essentially relegate Clinton to a footnote?

And then there's the other side of it: Palin's policies are vastly different than Clinton's. Or was McCain hoping that if he had a woman up on stage with him that Clinton supporters would all scream at each other like bridesmaids?
