I think some of the reasons why a person may not feel filthy rich at 250k a year is because that person is heavily leveraged. You may make a ton of money, but you're such a prodigious spender that it all goes down the toilet. I know plenty of people like that, 2 income couples that lease 2 new cars, have a boat, big McMansion, lots of furniture, a long commute, and buy trendy items.

My sentiments toward people like that is as such - go whine to somebody who cares.
