No. You have to convince them that they have been making the wrong choices in the past.

Right. And the way to do that is NOT to condescend or call folks names. You and Philly Steve (among others) should try this thought experiment: Imagine that some of the people who disagree with you politically are smart, patriotic, good people. They want most of the same things you do for their country and their world, they just disagree about how to get them.

I know, I know, right-wingers should do the same, and usually don't. Be better than them.
