I was hoping that I'd never have to tell anyone this information on the net because it might offend some people, but here goes: the truth is that fashion models are so thin is because Twiggy innovated the look and it stuck and because the fashion world is dominated by gay men, and they prefer the models to be thin so that they can visualize the outfits as more androgynous than exclusively feminine.
