The problem of using this to analyze stereotypes, however, is that in this instance it's being MISapplied by Lithwick and the media. The "Hillary Harridan" isn't even necessarily a woman; PUMA was founded by a guy, after all.

Because of that I'm far more interested in why Lithwick and other media types insist on portraying this as a "crazy female" thing, as opposed to a "sore loser" meme. I mean, seriously, why talk about this as a self-perpetuation of the crazy emotional female stereotype rather than an outgrowth of the "they stole the election" motiff from Gore 2000, which IMO is what it seems to be.
