Re: As a moderate Dem, I have been

Thank you -- excellent post. This is exactly what I was thinking when I saw this headline...I thought, finally, someone who will bebunk this myth of, as they call it: "Hillary Harridans". I actually don't believe these so-called evil bitter Hillary voters exist (though Maureen Dowd and her ilk fervently hope so...it's fueled many of her least interesting yet at the same time most fevered columns) Instead, this slate piece plays into the same old myth. Believe me, all progressive women, whether they supported BO early on or Hillary, will NOT vote for McCain. To believe so is complete B---Sh--. Yet portraying Hillary, and this mythical band of supporters, as evil women bringing down the country, completely plays into the same old sexist stereotypes of strong-yet-evil- women that this slate article purports to burst. Yet it perpetuates it!! It's some kind of circular, fun-house mirror sort of horror-show joke. This piece, and the MSM, and daily kos, all love to cling to this image of deranged middle aged female Hillary followers attempting to F up BO and his followers.

But, as a BO supporter, I fear the BO is losing support all by his lonesome. I'm not entirely clear yet on why this is happening. The Bradley effect?? The fact that he took a freakin' vacation last week when for Gawd's sakes, he doesn't get to take a vacation yet (I had recurring nightmares last week of John Kerry windsuring off Nantucket 4 years ago while the swift boaters had their way...BO and his cavorting on the beach in Hawaii while Rome, and Georgia, and the Middle East burned, didn't seem that far off) -- I mean, seriously...Obama, man, you don't get to rest until you are in the White House!!!

As you say, BO has yet to earn many votes. And because of inherent racism, BO's laziness and arrogance, the Bradley effect (take your pick) it may not happen. But blaming Hillary and her followers (who, again I argue, will certainly be supporting BO in Nov., if they are true progressives, even as they decry the very real sexism that permeated coverage of Hillary -- sexist coverage that persists to this day) is just a convenient sort of scapegoating by true believer Obamaites who should instead be putting energy into trying to figure out how BO can try to convert some of these voters or portray himself in a more appealing way. The preacher-y, I'm the man of hope, etc image is starting to repel rather than attract.
