In Japan, television sports shows will cover an at bat (pitch by pitch) of a Japanese player (i.e. Matsui) in a MLB game but fail to show any other highlights or even tell you the score.

(So super focus on Asian competitiors may well be a cultural thing)

I've long since stopped watching the Olympics for it's fractured coverage (ten seconds of diving, no three minutes of rowing, oh wait a sap story on a athlete I will never care about again who underwent adversity, oh three more seconds of diving), endless commercials and overwhelming national centric focus.

If they would just broadcast an entire event, I'd be happy to watch.
