Re: Script Kiddies
by mzanders

Excellent to see that there are some IT professionals reading something other than slashdot and IDS logfiles. Great points.

The biggest problem with this article isn't that it somehow provides other script kiddies any information they hadn't previously gotten, or even its appalling amorality regarding human death and the triumph of brutal dictatorship over democracy and freedom, but rather that it's boring and credulous. "Hey, computers can automate complex or repetitive tasks, like communicating with other computers!" Thanks for the newsflash, Slate; is your next breathless story on "Belgium: Fictional Land or Lost Civilization"?. I'm sure the Wichita Alarmist-Herald back in the days after A. G. Bell suddenly discovered a danger in our midst: "Deviants of all stripes can use this new 'telephone' for immoral purposes; our children are at risk!"
