If you want to declare something "not a sport" it would seem to be a prerequisite to say something...ANYTHING...about the actual game itself.

Instead, we get the presence of cheerleaders and ass slapping as a QED that this isn't a sport. No doubt the NFL will be surprised to hear this...

At least Troy Patterson admits he's only given the matter superficial consideration. I suppose this makes him simply lazy rather than stupid, which might be considered the better of the two.

Whenever I hear stuff like this, or rage over a mistake by a gymnast, or any of the other criticisms of elite athletes I can't help but form a mental image in my mind. I see Troy sitting on his couch, downing a pint of ice cream while demeaning the atheltic ability of athletes in a sport where he would collapse in exhaustion within 5 minutes. It's really rather pitiful.
