Re: Pet store bully

If this does not work, ask for a "sit-down" with your boss and someone who is his supervisor or an equal or someone from Human Resources. Express your concerns/issues and get it documented...names, dates people involved/witnesses,etc... If things do not change, DOUMENT DOCUMENT DOCUMENT his behaviors and send this documentation to his supervisor. And if it still does not change, get a lawyer and sue him and the company for creating a hostile work environment. I lived through this type of bullying for three years by a bullying trio and was finally squeezed out by management. It ruined my career.

Having BTDT, I understand your pain and desire to help others avoid it. BUT....

She is a in minimum wage kinda job. There is no cost-benefit analysis that would favor going to that kind of trouble and expense for a minimum wage job. And I can ASSURE you that even if there were, would she want to work in that environment -- she will be labeled a troublemaker even if she wins. And finally, do you think this bully is going anywhere? Nope.

My sister was in similar situation, but it wasn't in a min wage job, but management. She ended up suing the company (a large corporation) and won. BIG. So you'd think that company would have gotten rid of the idiot, right? Nope. Her boss is still employed by that company and is STILL doing the same thing to her former coworkers. No change. While she appreciates the money, that doesn't really compensate her for the trauma she went thru at his hands. If she had to do it over again, she would have given notice and quit. And that's exactly what this girl should do.
