Re: A priori arguments

Mom, there are no unborn kids, your children were given birth certificates and counted as American citizens when they were born, not before. Of course, we both knew before they were born how much we loved them, and we even knew their personalities before then. But we are talking about legal reality, and no first trimester fetus is a person under the law--believe me, it was hard to tell my miscarriage from a heavy period before I was married to my husband 30 years ago, and it wouldn't have been murdering a baby if I hadn't cancelled the abortion appointment for the week after next. It's a far different thing to be able to control what happens inside my own body than it is for the government to concern itself with the welfare and education of my baby boy, who's 26 now and in university, but some babies don't have a safe home, enough to eat, and their brothers and sisters don't have a good school to go to. Concern yourself with their needs. Not what goes on in our uteruses.
