(I)It seems to me that belief and faith are incorporated, to one degree or another, in to most alternative medicines (And I know patients who incorporate belief and faith into their conventional modern Western medicine too.)

Some of us were born skeptical. I have one hell of a time believing in anything and no faith, period. I'm guessing, based upon reports of meta-analysis of double blind studies, that about 20% may be wonting in belief or faith.

(II)I would add I really like a notion put fourth toward the end of the article that feeling a bet better now is more desirable than living longer. I am a Senior, not too unhealthy, but I don't want to ride around on a scooter with an oxygen tank like many of my friends. I've no belief or faith that they experiencing a desirable life.
