Many obese diabetic women cannot carry to term easily. In medical school, we used to admit these women for the last few weeks of their pregnancy. Perhaps the law should compel this. They might also prohibit the kind of foods that make women obese and diabetic.

A modest proposal-- Every woman of child-bearing age should have a gummit-mandated pregnancy test once a month, just in case.
