The issue is not RU486, but the "morning-after pill", which pharmacists have refused to dispense on "moral' grounds.

Not really a problem when the client can just go to another pharmacy. but a real problem in some towns where there is only one pharmacy.

The answer is that the state gives pharmacists an effective monopoly on the dispensing of prescription drugs. Along this comes an obligation to dispense these drugs, whether the pharmacist approves of them or not. If someone does not wish to assume this obligation, they are free to seek another profession and should be encouraged to do so.
