waltz and capsize:

only time enough to note I'd mentioned you in ref. to this poem just this morning. from another thread:

(On this score, we miss, in discussion of Bristle, White Rabbit, who seems to order his life by Occam. He always thinks horses, never zebras-- unless he's on the Serengeti.)

Have you ever been on the Serengeti, WR?

To butcher an old commercial phrase by Dial Soap:

Aren't you glad you use Occam's Razor?
Don't you wish everybody did?

I'm not certain what you imply by the next phrase. I think of horses, zebras and hyracotheriums (so to speak). A zebra is a zebra no matter what context it's in (like, on the streets of New York in Madagascar). How it got there is what's often a puzzle for me to understand. I don't like making unfounded speculations; they always get me (and often others) into trouble one way or another.

And so it often is with the Tuesday Poem. It is what it is, where it is. What got it to that point and why is what often seems obtuse to me. I am tired of the game of speculating on such things, and the poems are not even bad enough to parody effectively anymore. :)

No, I've never been to the Serengeti. I'd love to go, but I've done well to get to Jerusalem (and if all continues to go well, the UK and France this fall). It seems highly unlikely that I will ever leave the US again, given my finances.
