I'll spot you that point when I'm shown readily available and verifiable studies indicating the barrels per day oil companies currently aren't drilling on their leased lands are significant when compared to those estimated for from these new sources, over similar time periods.

Acres of leased lands don't matter to this issue (which is, IMHO, shortsighted and stupid by both sides. Votes in November through lowering gas prices today are more important than energy security, what!?!) Why would oil companies want to drill offshore or in ANWR when, supposedly, they have deposits right here with higher profit margins?
